What are Incense sticks (Agarbathies) all about?


The incense originates from the Latin word incensum, 'turning', and is a preparation of aromatic plant resins, which are typically oils of plant burned to release a fragrant smoke that is utilized for different purposes. Their aromas are very differed, some sweet, hot, musk, citrus, crisp, mitigating, soothing, refreshing, so on.

In india Incense sticks are also known as agarbathi (or agarbatti derived from Sanskrit word Agaravarthi, gara = odour, agar = aroma, varthi = wound ).
